Summer is officially back in town. This week we have had several days in the high 70s and I couldn’t think of any better excuse to celebrate this wave of warm weather than to make some good old Chocolate Nice Cream! I am not sure how this whole “nice cream” thing got started, but if you haven’t tried it, it is essentially ice cream made out of frozen bananas! What I love about nice cream is that it contains no dairy, no added sugar and tastes like the chocolate soft serve!!
I topped my nice cream with a chocolate coffee bar from Kate Bakes. For those of you who don’t know, Kate Bakes Bars are vegan and gluten-free protein bars made in small batches! They are definitely one of my favorite clean protein bars out there and taste like dessert! I especially love using them as a topping on nice cream, oatmeal, yogurt, you name it!
Simply Clean Chocolate Smoothie
Time: 2 Minutes
What You’ll Need:
1 Large frozen banana
1/4 Avocado, pitted and peeled
3/4 Cup water
1 Tablespoon cacoa or cocoa powder
1/4 Teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1.) Blend all of these ingredients in a blender until creamy.
2.) Top with fruit, nuts, coconut flakes or a crumbled Kate Bakes Bar!
