Shamrock Shakes are something that I never enjoyed as a a kid. Growing up eating food dye was not a thing in our family. My parents did not buy food dye and encouraged us not to eat things with food dye in them (don't worry, Halloween didn't count!) In addition, growing up in a health conscious family also meant we didn't indulge in things like Dairy Queen Blizzards, KFC biscuits and or course, McDonald's Shamrock Shakes.
To celebrate St. Patrick's Day this year, I chose to create a healthy version of a Shamrock Shake. Loaded with heaps of spinach, healthy fats from avocado, protein from brown rice protein powder and potassium from bananas, this shake is definitely a winner. Best of all, there is no food dye required to make this Healthy Shamrock Shake!
