Reflections Of An Unexpected Sunday

I've never done a post like this before. Probably because I typically only share health and wellness related articles and recipes. However, I thought it would be fun to go off the path and share some photos that I took yesterday at the Navy Yard in Washington, DC.

To be completely honest, I have never had an interest in photography. Art, yes, painting, yes, theatre, yes, but photography... not so much. It was not until I had to start taking pictures for my blog, that I began to fall in love with the art of photography. I bought a used camera for myself last year and within a week of using it, I was hooked.

For me, photography is more than capturing a moment in time. It reminds us of the beauty of the world we live in and how lucky we are to be alive. Capturing a moment in a time, the face of a stranger, a great meal, kids playing - it reminds us that even the smallest moments of life should be celebrated because in the blink of an eye, they might be gone.

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do and that they inspire you to go pick up your camera and see what is out there!
