Raspberry Orange Zinger Bowl

I don't know about where you live, but in DC it seriously feels like Summer all over again! I really can't understand this weather! First we have a week of "fall" (weather in the 50s/60s)  then a week of rain and now temperatures in the high 70s and 80s!! But hey, I really can't complain! I am a total fan of warm weather. Sure I like season changes and all, but if I had it my way, every day would be 70 and sunny... Guess I should probably move to California, huh?! 

So, in honor of this confusing weather I created my Raspberry Orange Zinger Bowl! Orange is one of my favorite fall flavors and I just love the crisp taste that the orange juice gives off when paired with the tartness of the raspberries, yum, yum, YUM! 

If you have never made a smoothie bowl, fear not. It's just like making a smoothie, but with a thicker consistency. I also tend to like my smoothie bowls a bit less chilly than my smoothies, so I usually omit the ice if I am using frozen fruit!

Serves 2

What You'll Need:
+ 1 large banana, frozen
+ 1/2 raspberries, fresh or frozen
+ 1/4 cup old fashioned oats
+ 1/2 cup fresh squeezed orange juice
optional: ice cubes

Directions:
+ Place all of the ingredients into a bowl and blend until creamy! If the smoothie is too thick, feel free to add more orange juice. Be careful not too add too much liquid as smoothie bowls have a thicker consistency than smoothies! Enjoy!! 

Toppings!
+ unsweetened coconut flakes
+ chia seeds
+ raspberries
+ pomegranate seeds
+ almond slivers
+ nut butter
