After reading about the horrific tragedy that happened aboard a DC metro train last weekend, I decided to do a post promoting Vigilant Personal Alarms. I have owned a Vigilant Alarm for the past two years and can not even begin to tell you the peace that it has brought me. When I first moved to college, my parents wanted me to get pepper spray. However, after doing some research, we found that many states require you to have a license to carry it. It wasn’t until I left to study abroad that I discovered Vigilant Alarms.
What I love about the personal alarm is its size. It is small enough to attach to a keychain, fit in the pocket of your favorite purse or carry in your hand walking home.
How It Works The alarm will sound when you release the pin that is attached to the key chain loop.
How Loud Is It? Pretty darn loud. The alarm sounds at 130 decibels or about as loud as a drill hammer. This sound is so alarming, that an attacker is bound to flee.
