The Cheesecake Factory has approximately 166 items on its menu that are over 1,000 calories. However, we all know that cheesecake is loaded with fat, sugar and calories, so no need to worry about eating there, right? Wrong...
Here is a short list of seemingly healthy options found on the Cheesecake Factory Menu:
+ Turkey Burger (1,370 calories)
+ Thai Lettuce Wraps (1,030 calories)
+ Grilled Portobello on a Bun (1,130 calories)
+ Miso Salmon (1,670 calories)
+ Wasabi Crusted Ahi Tuna (1,750 calories)
+ Blackened Chicken Sandwich (1,340 calories)
+ Tomato Basil Pasta (1,660 calories)
Incredible right? Yeah, my mind was blown. In fact, I am actually quite impressed that they are even able to to take something like a grilled portobello mushroom, which has 26 calories and make it into a 1,130 calorie “Grilled Portobello on a Bun.” HOW DO THEY DO IT?!
On the bright side of all of this frightening information, I did find some more reasonable calorie items on the restaurant's menu:
+ Vegetable Chopped Salad (280 calories) with chicken (390 calories)
+ Grilled Tuna with Green Beans (580 calories)
+ Seared Tuna Tataki Salad (440 calories)
+ Chinese Chicken Salad (540 calories)
+ Luau Salad (510 calories)
+ Santa Fe Salad (540 calories)
+ Simply Grilled Salmon with Steamed Spinach (580 calories)
The moral of this post? If you are trying to live a healthier lifestyle, it is probably best to stay away from places like The Cheesecake Factory. And if there’s no escaping it, educate yourself about what you eat. Restaurant chains like The Cheesecake Factory are required to post the nutritional information of their foods online. Know before you go!
